I realized my love for photography decades ago. One Christmas, my parents gave me their old Cannon camera because even in my preteen years I was always the one grabbing dad's camera to capture the moment for our family. It took me 44 years to actually learn how to use a camera correctly, but it was absolutely worth the wait! My old Cannon died sometime in my late 30's and I used the extremely user friendly novice Kodak EasyShare digital camera throughout the years my daughters were young. It did the job, but I always craved the knowledge that "real photographers" possessed so that I could take control of my love for capturing life through a lens. I wanted to speak DSLR language!
My then fiance, now hubby, got me a Nikon DSLR for my birthday and I had to learn how to use it. I took a one-on-one class that scratched the surface of my learning and then signed up for a beginner class at Indianapolis Art Center where my awesome instructor taught me the in's and out's of the camera, lenses, lighting, composition and the process of mastering photography.
It was very exciting to move away from the auto mode and into manual mode. My passion grew and now I can concentrate on subject matter, artistic interpretation and unique composition which is the real fun. I'm still learning and anxious to work and learn with each session to perfect this passion.
These days, being a photographer also requires one to be a blogger and website designer I'm told. So, bare with me as I slowly update and load my site with content. Remember, my passion is taking and editing photographs! Check back often as I add more examples of my sessions and blog posts.
Saturday, I have the privilege of photographing the beautiful, blended Sagebiel family. The midwest leaves are in full color, the weather is supposed to be gorgeous and my subjects are a dream! Stay tuned....
